Maxtube was incorporated in 1996 in Aberdeen, Scotland. Maxtube is the owner the of 50 year old Duoline Technologies, USA.
 
Duoline 20 lining system provides long lasting protection to downhole tubing from corrosion due to process fluids. Duoline 20 is an “inherently holiday free” GRE (glass reinforced epoxy) composite liner inserted and grouted inside low cost carbon steel tubing using cement. The connection area as illustrated in picture below is fully protected by the combination of flares and a corrosion barrier rings.

The finished product has the combined high strengths of the steel with the corrosion resistance of GRE, to provide long lasting corrosion protection. The smooth internal surface of the Duoline liner helps to avoid buildup of scales in the ID of the tubing. The thermal insulation properties of the Duoline liner helps to retain the heat of the produced fluids; and this keeps the viscosity of oil low. This in turn lowers the pressure drop allowing for increased production.

APPLICATION ENVELOPE

LIMITATIONS

Duoline 20 is highly resistant to H2S. The Duoline 20 liner can protect low alloy CS tubing up to: 

  • 144 deg C in absence of H2S
  • 127 deg C in presence of 10% H2S and 10% CO2 
  • 110 deg C in presence of 17% H2S and 10% CO2  

Nearly 110 million feet on 45,000 wells are completed with Duoline 20, which protects low alloy CS tubing from Oxygenated water in absence of inhibitors saving hundreds of thousands of dollars on the Life cycle cost of the wells.

Duoline 20 lined low allow CS tubing is a better alternative to 25 Cr for water injection with O2 levels above 10 ppb. 

Duoline 20 tubing not only offers an initial capital saving, but also saves on Capex associated with O2 scavenging facilities and Opex such as inhibitor costs
